Outside My Window

There's rain outside my window.

Raindrops cold and loud and strong!

Should the rain turn to snow?

Where snow does not belong!

Raindrops on the window pane.

As the wind blows with its might.

Raindrops come again, again.

Into October night.

It has rained throughout this day.

The kind that gives me a chill.

I know the rain must come my way.

I’ve had it, if you will.

I tried to think of a subject for the current theme. Nothing would come to me, so here's one I wrote several years ago. One of my favorite memories. It was way too long, so I shortened it for here/

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
PENNY CANDY
When I was just a little girl
I'd walk down to the store
If I found a copper penny
And right inside the door
I could see the candy counter
Filled with everything so sweet
My mouth would start to water
And I'd hop 'round ...
Summer, how we've longed for it
the picnics and parades
The lazy day's of warm sunshine
how winter chillness fades
Sitting on the front porch
watching people pass
Smelling how the air is full
with the scent of new mown grass
Watering the flowers
seeing how they grow
Enjoying children playing
running to and fro
Summer, how we love it
Things like swimming lazily
camping by the lake
For many a year they have been together
Through a lot of storms they did weather
Now there light is fading,as they reach the golden years
But as they share their memories ,they also shed some tears
Of bygone days and happy times,when the family was all together
Oh how the little ones would laugh and play,and bring them each a feather
The feather was from up above someone sending all their love
So now as they each hold each other,while looking up above
JENNY
Jenny had a pony
it's coat was soft and warm
Her pony's name was Tony
and they lived on a farm
Jenny just loved Tony
and Tony loved her, too
He was her favorite pony
and she owned quite a few
But, one day she went shopping
and money had she none
So she traded in her Tony
for a sticky sugar bun
Now, Tony was so very sad
to think she would do that
He said, "If that's the way you feel
I'll just adopt a cat."
Then, Jenny felt so very bad
that Tony ...
I was sipping some wine
and getting kind of high
we were finally together
it was just her and I.
Her lips were moist
and her eyes dark blue
I whispered in her ear
just what I wanted to do.
I was touching her warm flesh
it was feeling so fine
my fingers gently massaging
up and down her spine.
My hands came around
and I cupped her breast
you all think you know
all of the rest.
Together we became
one beating heart
as I entered between
How very dear, are you to me?...
Without your eyes, I would never see.
Without your love, I’d be alone...
Without your heart, I would have no home.
How very much do I care for you?...
Like the sweetest grass, loves the morning dew.
Like moonlight on two lovers faces...
And sunlight touching secret places
And do I long, when your away?...
Like a dove who’s mate, has passed this day.
As flowers long for falling rain...
Like a musical note, in the last refrain.
